Springing into Abundance
I have the worst spring head cold. I'm about a week in. Not allergies, a hum-dinger of a cold. It tends to weigh my head and chest down by about 30 pounds. If I lie down, it's worse. It's like having a large, relentless cat curled up on my neck and upper chest with one big paw over my nose. Breathing is so underrated.
There's so much heavy already. Milk, gas, "health" care and even bananas are on the rise. (Isn't there a statute somewhere stating that bananas should remain at $.38/lb indefinitely??) Jobs/wages are on the decline. Foreclosures are up. We're inundated with "lack" and fear in the media. Lack of breath seemed the kicker for me this week.
It took about a ½ day of sulking for me to shake free and remember how abundant I am. I'm relatively healthy, have a home, two great kids and a fabulous husband, friends, food, many technological comforts and a passionate pursuit of happiness.
Yet I still find myself occasionally dipping into a "lack" state of mind. I'm sometimes even resorting to "hoard mode." (Yeah, but what if I need that sometime, what will I do then?!) I could blame all the bad news out there, but it's really up to me to interpret. It's a shift in thought, really. What do I believe?
Back to my head cold… If I get up and move around, things begin to break up and I feel more human again. A shower is key to the process. Wash off the sick. Start fresh. Keep things moving. Get dressed in "I'm well again" clothes.
Stagnation can be dangerous. Air has to move. People have to move. Stuff has to move. Money has to move. Assumptions have to move. Energy doesn't stay still (watch a 2 year old for 10 minutes!)
To what are you holding fast? Try one of these remedies:
- Give it away
- Sell it
- Reuse it
- End it
- Begin it
